Vintage Blue Painted Indian Slatted Teak Shelf - Ca 1930

This Anglo-Indian teak shelving unit dates from the late Raj period, circa 1940s, and is a wonderfully characterful example of practical colonial furniture. Crafted from solid teak, it retains a rich surface of original sky blue paint, now beautifully weathered and softly worn through years of use. Areas of natural paint loss reveal the warm tones of the teak beneath, creating a layered, timeworn patina that cannot be replicated.

The design is simple and functional, with four slatted shelves framed by clean, straight lines and open sides.
